ORTHO® Weed B Gon® Weed Killer Concentrate For Lawns 1 Gal. is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 218.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the same as years past I have used Ortho Weed B Gon for the past 3 years. I have recommended this product to many friends based on the results I had in the past. I don't have any of the old bottles left to compare the lables, but I believe based on this years results (VERY POOR) that the ingredients must have been changed. In years past I could see results in one day, if not sooner. This year it has been 4 days and the weeds look healthier than before I sprayed. I use an Ortho dial sprayer, the same one from the last 2 years, on the same setting. I am very disappointed with the results. I have two acres and it takes a lot of time to apply. Six plus hours wasted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use sparingly - it works I use the Weed-B-Gone concentrate to control weeds in two large yards (approx. 15,000 sq ft each). At home, I re-use a WeedBGone 'ready to use' 24 oz. spray bottle (it was a bit of a challenge to calculate the amount of concentrate to use in a smaller container). I'm conscious of not wanting to overuse chemicals, so I'm able to keep my lawn nearly weed free by just spraying visible weeds every couple weeks. Since the other property is 6 hrs away, more weeds take hold between sprayings, and I use a 3 gallon sprayer to broadcast the spray over most areas. It takes many re-fills in that sprayer to cover that entire lawn, but it does a nice job of controlling most weeds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective and pet friendly Various weeds have been taking over portions of the yard but two dogs in residence made me reluctant to spray. Turns out, once it's dry on the grass, Weed B Gone is safe for pets! Who knew? Now, a section I once feared would have to be tilled and reseeded is showing signs of life. The patches of clover are gone along with quite a few other nuisance weeds. The measuring cap built into the cap makes it easy to determine portions. If you are covering large portions of yard as I was, and to avoid uneven spraying, take light masons string or fishing line and a couple stakes to divide the grass into sections. What weeds I didn't get this year, I'll be gunning for next spring!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It does work, just be patient After reading the reviews, I had my doubt's, but I had already purchased it so I thought I would give it a try. Read the instructions full, use it and wait. It will start to kill the weeds but not over night like a total GRASS killer does (there is a big difference between grass killers and weed killers). After about 3 days they started to turn yellow and then black. They did not grow any more but they were not completely dead either. 14 day later I am now applying a second dose and I hope that will finish them off. Ortho does such a great job with the total grass killers we get impatient with the selective weed killers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly satisfied, but have lower expectations than before I tried it I have been using WBG occasionally for about 10 years. Although I had initially expected a miracle product that eliminates all weeds from my lawn after just one application, I have learned to be much more realistic (i.e. drastically lower my expectations) and just be satisfied that it helps me invert my lawn's weed population from a very visible majority to a minority. I only use the concentrate with a pump sprayer, and the weeds that get exposed will slowly turn brown and wilt away in 1-3 weeks. New weeds will still grow after application, but they will be less abundant and the surviving grass will keep growing at their usual rate. This product is a selective weed killer, not a lawn fertilizer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Crabgrass in my Bluegrass - Ortho's Crabgrass Killer not working! This year I am attempting to control crabgrass with combination of Scotts Halts fertilizer and Ortho's Weed B Gon. Although the Scotts Halts stopped early spring crabgrass the July crabgrass is now popping up all over our front yard, not side yards and not in backyards. I'm spent have sprayed multiple times and now am forced to bend over and pull up individual grass grass clumps. This Ortho bottle of Weed B Gon is not working, not even turning the crabgrass to yellow. Did I get a bad batch of product? ORTHO please help as I dislike seeing crabgrass in my bluegrass. This bottle does not work as good as past years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always had great results I've used WeedBGone for nearly ten years on my lawns in TN an coastal VA. VERY pleased with it. For past 8 years my lawn is 35,000 sq ft planted in fescue on shore of Chesapeake Bay. About the time the forsythia blooms I appl Scotts fertilizer with Halts crabgrass control and apply WeedBGon with the hose-end sprayer. Instructions say 1.5 oz but I set my sprayer on 2oz. I do another application of WBGone in early July. My lawn is as close to perfect as it could be. If I cut T the grass lower I could use it as a putting green.
