Rated 5 out of 5 by DG1974 from Very pleased! Last year we asked our lawn service to stop fertilizing our lawn by using a huge hose sprayer because the fertilizer / weed killer got into our air conditioning system. So we took over putting down treatments, and I chose Scotts. I used Scotts plus Halts in late March and our lawn looks better than any of our neighbors who still have the expensive spray treatments. Our lawn is greener, thicker and grows faster than anyone else's. Yesterday I put down Scotts Weed and Feed to get at the few dandelions and some clover that are trying to get traction in our lawn. Come late June, it will get the Summer Lawn product, then in the Fall the Autumn feeding.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Berger from Excellent, but we miss the one that had crabgrass control We've used this product for decades in several states, and we love it. It always makes our lawn look better than most of the others on our block. One tip we've learned after all these years of Scott's use: apply more heavily around the lawn perimeter. We've never been able to prevent crabgrass there when we've used the label spreader setting. We always increase the setting by 2 or 3 for the perimeter. We do miss the old Scott's product that fed, controlled crabgrass, and also controlled weeds. I believe it was called "Plus 4". It'd sure be nice to have a single-application product like that back again. Meanwhile, we're willing to use Turf Builder With Halts and then a weed-preventer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LawnBoyLoy from Excellent Product !! Works as advertised and expected from Scotts I highly recommend this product and a solid line of the Scotts lawn care products used in tandem with their Scotts My Lawn App. I have been taking care of lawns ever since I started mowing lawns at age 5. I've learned a lot of good and bad practices, over the years, but with Scotts, you cannot go wrong. I have switched my entire lawn care system to all Scotts. I wish I could attach pics to this review. I have had several neighbors stopping to complimenting me and asking me how they can do it. I almost want to keep it my own secret, but I can't. SCOTTS Lawn Care Products are worth every penny!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by TheBlueberry from Best of the Best Scotts just does it right. They don't just pore in a bucket of this and that. Scotts all in one particle used to be made of a slurry of NPP and vermiculite was added that absorbed the slurry. I don't know if the still use vermiculite in any of there products but vermiculite was great at holding water in the soil and preventing compaction. Just remember this product is mostly for early season for a quick boost and is high in ammoniacal nitrogen and low in Urea. As far as preventing crabgrass, it does its job as long as you don't disturb the ground were applied at all. just remember that after edging your sidewalks, edges will be open to windborn seeds. Rated 5 out of 5 by VABeach from Awesome product Planning to apply this product this weekend. Used it last year & was absolutely amazed at the results. I have neighbors on both sides that are over-run by everything including crabgrass. I thought I was doomed, but if applied early enough this stuff really works. It really does keeps crab-grass from germinating. I will admit that at the end of the season I had some crabgrass. It came from the neighbors & Scott's admits this application only works for 4 months. I tried using Ortho weed (with crabgrass) control with several applications but it took a long time to kill the existing crabgrass. Unfortunately I think I killed plenty of grass with it, doing too many weed applications too close together. Near the end I simply pulled out the remaining plants by hand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PhilHor from Great Stuff I used true green lawn care last year and it costs over $225. I used them just to get my lawn going. It had a lot of bare spots and what not. I liked them cause they would come out and spot treat if needed......They Aerated in the fall and I over seeded like crazy......Early spring I threw down halts crabgrass preventer and my lawn looks so good right now. I threw down some weed n feed from Scott's a month after first app and I can't find a weed in it.....Sorry Tru Green but its a lot cheaper to do it myself.....You really can't go wrong with Scott's products!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by DAS from Okay Applying "Halts" at the right time is important. Clean your lawn before hand if needed! Do not reseed at this time. During the growing season, pull weeds by hand. This will help in future years! Applications are not the "end all"! I do this couple times during growing season, that's all! I have few weeds here in the Northeast! Apply lime twice year, just before summer and fall. During the hot summer, raise mower height! No applications during the summer, except insecticides! Do not bag lawn cuttings, except if lawn is extremely tall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by maweaver from Been Using this Product for Many Years I grew up using Scotts products from my father's hardware store and am still using Scotts products after more than 35 years. Still have a Scotts Lawn Pro jacket from the 1970's and have always trusted Scotts products to get the job done right. I've been using the Scotts plus Halts to control crabgrass ever since the product was introduced and have never had any problems with crabgrass. So, I recommend the fertilizer with Halts to anyone who wants to save themselves the hassle of dealing with crabgrass if you don't use this product. Just apply early Spring, as directed and be crabgrass-free for another year.
